Using green cleaning techniques is an easy way to make your home more environmentally friendly. Spread the word about these non-toxic and effective cleaning methods by teaching your friends and family to make more eco-conscious choices when cleaning their homes.

Create a portable teaching kit that can easily be transported to your loved one’s homes. Include a supply of non-toxic, biodegradable and organic products that are based on renewable resources. Bring dishrags made from recycled cotton and washable sponges that can be reused for longer than traditional synthetic sponges.

Prove the power of green cleaning techniques to your friends and family by giving them an in-home demonstration. Use your green supplies to clean off countertops, remove soap scum and give a new sheen to wooden furniture. While you are cleaning, talk about the affordability of natural products. Share your shopping tips and remind friends that although organic cleaners may be more expensive than chemical-laden brands, the benefits to their health and the environment are worth any extra cost.

Take your demonstration a step further by showing friends the benefits of vinegar and baking soda. These are common household staples that can be used as effective, affordable and environmentally friendly cleansers.

Introduction to green cleaning techniques is a way to provide information on cleaning without the use of toxic chemicals. Going green when cleaning has several benefits for people who suffer from allergies, or who are sensitive to harsh chemicals and green cleaning is safe for the environment.

Many companies are coming out with new products all the time that use the power of steam to loosen dirt and kill germs without the use of any cleaning chemicals. Companies are also providing the public with a larger selection of green cleaning products that are biodegradable and non-toxic.
For many of us the means for green cleaning is right in our kitchens and pantries and are completely chemical free.I was looking for more information and found it here.

White vinegar and baking soda are all natural cleaners when mixed with a bit of warm water, makes a great all purpose cleaner. White vinegar is also great for de- liming coffee makers, pet dishes and removing hard water build-up on sinks, allow the vinegar to stand a bit to loosen build-up and be sure to rinse well after build-up is removed. Baking soda is great for removing odors in carpets, and works great when cleaning kitchen and bathroom tiles and counter tops.

We all know we should do it. We know it will be better for our health and our environment. However, people tend to assume that “Going Green” will be expensive and inconvenient. In reality, the opposite is true. House plants when bought small are inexpensive, take little care, and will help keep the inside your home cleaner and fresher smelling. Take inventory of all the chemical laden products you purchase to clean all the different areas of your home, the ones that have poison, danger, or warning labels on them. Note how much you spent on each product, and try not to kick yourself too hard when you throw them out. There are two inexpensive products that can accomplish the same tasks without harming you, your family, or the environment. Vinegar and Baking Soda can be used to clean anything and I’ve found in many cases better than the chemical laden products. I’ve scrubbed bathroom fixtures, kitchen appliances and counters, and mopped my floors with a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water, using baking soda on tough stains or spots. The vinegar smell doesn’t last long and the results are very satisfactory. Easy, inexpensive, convenient, and green is how I prefer to clean.

Although most individuals are comfortable using industrial grade cleaning solutions within their homes there are other safer cleaning products in the market. These cleaners are just as effective as the chemical laced ones in the market with the added advantage of being hypoallergenic and family friendly.

When it comes to teaching the people within your home how to clean using green products there are various ways this can be achieved.

Firstly, it would be ideal to teach the members of the household how to make various home made soaps and detergents.I found some more information here. This will ensure that they know what goes into the soaps and the impact each component has on them and the environment.

As an example, vinegar can be used to clean various items in the home leaving them fresh and bacteria free. Other tips include using bicarbonate of soda, some water and a dash of lemon juice for the floors.

For those who might not be keen on doing any DIY soap projects, some soda pop which is acidic in nature, can be used in order to keep the toilets and bath tubs in the home fresh and clean without breaking a sweat.

Basically, there are many ways the family can clean without using any harsh detergents or chemicals that could cause allergic reactions and irritations in the people within the home.
