So you like to live as environmentally-friendly as possible. You purchase biodegradable items, you are always on the lookout for Lower Gas Rates NY or wherever and you generally try to keep a green home. However, did you know that when it comes to cleaning there is a wrong way and a green way? Believe it or not, there are tons of green cleaning products on the market and many of them work just as well as the name brand items.

You might be wondering what makes these cleaning products “green.” Most of these products are made with environmentally friendly ingredients, which is important for a number of reasons. Let’s face it, even though we throw our trash in dumps, it can still have a harmful effect on the environment, which is why these products are so important. These cleaning products are also safe to use around the house because they don’t cause the respiratory or skin ailments that are reported with some of the over-the-counter name brands.

You can usually tell which cleaning products are green by the label of the EPA (United States Environmental Protection Agency) or the DfE (Design for the Environment) label. Products that are also labeled to have low or zero VOC (volatile organic compounds) are also generally safe not just for the environment but the people in your home.
