Creating a Green Clean Living Environment
We all know we should do it. We know it will be better for our health and our environment. However, people tend to assume that “Going Green” will be expensive and inconvenient. In reality, the opposite is true. House plants when bought small are inexpensive, take little care, and will help keep the inside your home cleaner and fresher smelling. Take inventory of all the chemical laden products you purchase to clean all the different areas of your home, the ones that have poison, danger, or warning labels on them. Note how much you spent on each product, and try not to kick yourself too hard when you throw them out. There are two inexpensive products that can accomplish the same tasks without harming you, your family, or the environment. Vinegar and Baking Soda can be used to clean anything and I’ve found in many cases better than the chemical laden products. I’ve scrubbed bathroom fixtures, kitchen appliances and counters, and mopped my floors with a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water, using baking soda on tough stains or spots. The vinegar smell doesn’t last long and the results are very satisfactory. Easy, inexpensive, convenient, and green is how I prefer to clean.
